Electrical aggregation program provides 100-percent renewable energy

The Village of Tinley Park’s recently approved electrical aggregation program with MC Squared Energy Services, LLC provides 100% renewable energy at the same, average ComEd rate of 7.75 cents per kWh.

Following a 2012 voter referendum, residents allowed the Village of Tinley Park to negotiate the purchase price of combined electrical supply on behalf of residents and small businesses enrolled in the aggregation program. The Village can leverage better terms by lumping several purchasers together, as opposed to an individual going to the market on their own.

Mayor shaves head to support cancer research

Millennium Elementary School in Tinley Park recently hosted its annual St. Baldrick's Day Head Shaving Event, which is held with the goal of raising funds to help battle childhood cancer.  The event went off without a hitch! Students in kindergarten through fifth grade had volunteers who decided to participate in the head shaving out of solidarity for their fellow students battling childhood cancer. The event also had a few teachers and past students who wanted to participate by having their heads shaved, as well.
